B-52 Crash at Edwards AFB Leaves No Survivors: As an update to yesterday’s article, the B-52 crash at Edwards killed all eight on board. The aircraft was testing an advanced radar system when the crash occurred. Two Boeing personnel were a part of the eight on board. Porter Airlines Becomes First to Operate From Montreal Metropolitan Airport: Yesterday, Porter Airlines launched its first of many flights from the Montreal Metropolitan (formerly Montreal Saint-Hubert) Airport. The airline will start by operating eleven routes, those consisting of Toronto City, Toronto Pearson, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Halifax, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Moncton, Charlottetown, and St. John’s.
Virgin Australia Resumes Qatar Airways Operated Service: Virgin Australia has resumed service from Melbourne to Doha operated by Qatar Airways after a four month suspension.
AirBaltic and El Al Sign Codeshare Agreement: AirBaltic and El Al Israel have signed a codeshare agreement. This will mean that the LY and BT code will be used on select flights of each airline. AirBaltic will resume service from Riga to Tel Aviv on July 1st.
Air Transat Launches Flights to Moroccan Coastal City: Air Transat has launched season once per week flights to the Moroccan coastal city of Agadir from Montreal. The service will be operated on Fridays and the final flight for this year will be on October 23. This marks the first North American city to serve Agadir.
Etihad Adds Routes and Restores Routes: Etihad has just launched new routes to Krakow, Palma de Mallorca, Damascus, and Zanzibar City whilst restoring routes to Santorini, El Alamein, Mykonos, and Malaga.
American Airlines to Expand Caribbean and Latin American Routes: American is set to launch new routes to Maracaibo and Cap-Haitian from Miami.
Airlink South Africa Set to Launch Route to Mauritius: South Africa’s Airlink is going to start flying to Mauritius from Cape Town on October 2nd.
Pegasus Launches Route to Gatwick: Turkish airline Pegasus will start flying to London Gatwick from Istanbul.

JetZero Begins Construction on Greensboro Assembly Plant: JetZero, the blended wing aircraft developer, has just broken ground on their massive 8,000,000 square foot (743,224 square meters) plant at the Piedmont-Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina. JetZero is the third aircraft manufacturer to build a plant in Greensboro, as Boom Supersonic and Honda already have lines there. The company hopes to have the plant fully finished by the early 2030s in order to start producing airframes as soon as possible.
