Plane Crashes into Surbuban Minnesota Home
What Happened?
On March 29th, SOCATA TBM7 crashed in a residential area in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, around 12:20 p.m. local time.The plane departed from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa and was headed to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis, the FAA said. The home was about 1.5 miles from the runway threshold.
A large fire ensued, and one home was totaled (the one that the aircraft directly struck). Other homes received minor damage. There was one person inside the house when it was hit, and they were able to escape unscathed. Brooklyn Park Fire Chief Shawn Conway said that there was one occupant of the aircraft, the pilot, who was believed to be deceased.
Reports indicate that the Vice President of Minnesota based financial giant US Bancorp, Terry Dolan, was the pilot of the crashed plane.
