This is a petition to get rid of the following restraints on the forum:

  1. “An error occurred: Body seems unclear, is it a complete sentence?” :sob:
    This is so freaking annoying, you use all caps to get a point across, and even if it is a complete sentence, it’s not allowed! Why!

  2. “Your responding too quickly, please wait ten years and try again” :skull:
    Most of the time that I get this, it is like the first time I even talked in the conversation!

  3. (not being able to use all caps in topic titles) :thinking:
    This is just a shame, like what do you think all caps are for anyway?! (hint, hint… TITLES) :exploding_head:

  4. “Upload your art here. Allowed file types: .jpg, .png, .gif, .heic” :face_vomiting:
    I do hope that no one here is f*ckwitted enough to not understand how to upload an image, and even If they are that stupid, just get rid of this ugly text at the top of every aviation art topic once it has been posted. It is so annoying to have to go back and edit and delete it.
    So, please make it so that once I click: “+Create Topic” that this is REMOVED!!!

  5. “At least 5 characters minimum”
    You can’t even have “b747” as a title of a topic on this forum, now that’s mind-blowing. :persevering_face:

  6. There are probably a lot more I’ve forgotten about, so please if you are a fellow forum member who agrees with me, comment that below and I will add it…

Another note to the mods who should take care of this… if your okay with removing one thing but not another, then don’t worry about the others, just do the best you can… :slightly_smiling_face:

Can the mods please try to do something about these problems on the forum?

Some of these I understand, but hate. The “replying too quickly” is to prevent spam, but nobody is constantly posting something 5 million times in a row (cuz people know how stupid that is). The “body is unclear” is also dumb. I can’t even post “…” when somebody says something sus.

The Upload files I kind of get. It’s not that people don’t know how to upload them, it’s that there are hundreds of different types of file extensions (.png, .jpg, you get it), and the forum can only handle a select few. So it’s important that these are named so people don’t go “Why won’t my .svg file upload??”
But I do get it, it needs to be like a notification when you make the topic and not stay once you finish it.

The things like “you must wait x to reply”, “body seems unclear”, or “your post must be x characters” are there to prevent spamming by users - each post on the forum, as defined by the Code of Conduct, needs to have meaning to it. I can see if I can lower these cooldowns slightly.

In regards to the “allowed file types” in Art Corner > Aviation Art, the reason it is there is because that is how the question appears on the form to let members know what files they can upload. I can’t remove it from the topic after the form was submitted.

The thing is that sometimes I didn´t even wrote anything and the message that I need to wait comes instantly.

If you send a personal message, chat message, or anything on the forum, the cooldown applies.

I have reduced the cooldown on the following:

  • Users must wait two minutes (120 seconds) before creating a post with the same content again.
  • Users must wait 60 seconds after creating a topic to create a new topic.
  • Users must wait 30 seconds after creating a post/reply to create a new post/reply.

can you get rid of the cooldown at least, and if someone says three messages in 1 minute then have a cooldown, not just an immediate cooldown already!
The crime must be committed before the punishment!!!

We cannot remove the cooldown - as I stated, the Code of Conduct says:

:airplane: Spam & Unconstructive Content

Spamming or creating content that disrupts the conversation is forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to;

  • Being intentionally disruptive
  • Being off-topic in threads
  • Creating threads for the sole purpose of promoting other threads
  • Creating posts or threads intended to cause unrest in the community
  • Spamming art or photos for videos (for example, posting art over and over again for a video)
  • Discussions that do not relate to the category they were posted in.
  • Spamming posts and/or topics.
  • Using AI to generate spam-like posts
  • Creating topics with no purpose.

Having a 30-second cooldown will prevent this rule from being broken. If you want to quickly chat with someone, you can always use General.
