Figured I’d make a thread as this seems very serious. What happened? People are saying that the CRJ was going 30mph and some say at least 100. Anyways this is the remains of the cockpit. Both pilots are deceased. LaGuardia is closed until this afternoon. This happened while the flight was exiting RWY 04.
Rest in peace to those who were lost
Looking like the collision was on the runway, and the CRJ could have been going over 60 knots
it was going 30mph
No shot a plane going 30 could get that screwed up.
I mean, it hit a firetruck that was prob going faster
It apparently was going over 90
it was confirmed to be on the runway, as you can see the thrust reversers deployed
the collision was at the intersection of taxiway delta and aircraft went on past taxiway echo and was majorly slowed down by the fire truck and it slid off ig
Mb I ment at the intersection
oh shii you right that is a taxiway lmao
This is the most confusing thing ever
#$@%,… R.I.P the pilots, … the C.A.D.I will investigate this right now… im going to create a topic… send me the data there, i will try to find the reason
so apparently, atc messed up. hope he doesn’t get fired. its a stressful job, these things are bound to happen. I wanna be a atc so this kinda piqued my interest when i saw it.
that damage is flipping crazy. how can a CRJ get so damaged crashing into a fire truck?!
Aaron Rheins made a video with footage of the crash https://youtube.com/shorts/Ag_P8tvXdjw?si=NxEoh4vAVH-J3D7Q
This is really disturbing because one moment both pilots were just landing and the next they were crushed
