actually I knew it bc of the wingtips(I got good eyes so I spot it) and I spotted two Speedbirds flying two flights in the opposite direction of each other and I spotted those two 5 minutes apart 
Well it depends on where you live like Greenville SC for me 7 787s is crazy because you would only maybe see the Turkish, Lufthansa or Ethiopian flights to Atlanta and maybe the aeromexico to spain
