The Soviet Tupolev - 144 or short Tu-144 codename charger was the true first supersonic airliner in the world. She had her first voyage on the 31st of December in 1968, over 2 months before the first flight of the Concorde. Her story was filled with accidents. She was only offical used between 1977 - 1978, later she was used for NASA testflights.
