Art Description
This is a drawing of my fictional space fighter, the SF-01 Solarstorm.
Used by the space variant of the RNZAF, this small craft is a nimble, fast, and easily recognizable ship that is found in most allied space-fleets. Its wings can fold up and down, allowing for three modes. Storage mode (where the main wings are put stowed up against the upper ones), Normal Mode (where the upper wings are fully vertical), and Attack Mode (where the upper wings are closely positioned by the main ones, allowing for as much lift as possible). It has three engines. One main engine in the middle, and two smaller ones on either bottom corner of the main. It’s top speeds are Mach 2 in NM, and Mach 4 in AM. It is produced with five guns (including a single high-power laser gun at the nose), but can also hold extra gun pods. It also has the capability of carrying guided air-to-air missiles, and can carry one 5500kg bomb slung underneath the fuselage. It has a pair of air brakes on either side of the fuselage just behind the cockpit, and a smaller third rudder at the back of the main engine to assist with steering in AM. Its nose gear twists in place just like the Me-262, and the main gear simply deploys out towards the nose and down. It seats one pilot, and has storage for food and water for medium-haul flights between bases. It is short-haul, only used for short-distance dogfights while defending a base, so it doesn’t contain toiletries like modern jets.
