What the hell? A midair collision, now a runway collision?!?!
A Boeing 737 MAX 8, registrated PS-GPP and operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes collided with a truck driving in the runway while it began its takeoff roll yesterday (feb. 12) in Rio de Janeiro - Tom Jobim (Galeão) Int’l Airport (GIG/SBGL
) before its “would be” flight to Fortaleza Pinto Martins Int’l Airport (FOR/SBFZ
) at around 10 PM (UTC -3).
During its takeoff, it struck a Chevy pickup truck from the Galeão Airport Administration that had made its way onto the runway and the plane nearly veers off of the right side of the runway, but the pilots regain control, saving many lives.
The crew aborted the takeoff, the plane came to a complete stop, all passengers were de-boarded safely, the truck was destroyed (as you can see from the image) and the plane also suffered severe damage. Thankfully, this didn’t occure in higher speeds, but the fact that there was a truck on the runway during takeoff isn’t very reassuring.

bro , just imagine aviation being re-invented again in the future where it has been banned , i would rather die in that distopic situation before that happens…

I wish it doesn’t happen, and i wish that the pilots get better and that the plane manufacturers fix their planes properly

in that situation these lyrics would have a different meaning:
/Am I right back where I started fourteen years ago?/
/It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake
When I’m asleep/

These lyrics remind me of a song called “I’d Rather Sleep” by Kero Kero Bonito
