it’s so desert there that Mars movies are filmed there because of the lack of plants
ok…
It was a joke
Oh yeah! We have the Grand Canyon too!!!
yeah, no kidding. I’ve been.
How did this go from RC planespotting to pictures of biomes? ![]()
Oh. Do you know the other fields though?
And to be fair, there’s more in Nevada.
The hoover dam, Lake Mead, Green (yes, there is actual green and not fake green if you know where to look), Area 51, etc.
To be fair, we also have Reno, and some of the desert is actually very pretty at certain times of day. And then there is Mt. Charleston. Very pretty, very green, and it gets snow.
So when you see just brown, look in other places. In fact, there is a lot of plants right by the Willie McCool airstrip. My plane has run into them a couple of times on landings gone wrong.
Also, Joshua trees every 50 meters, (or 50 ft in some areas)
And I’m pretty sure most mars movies were actually filmed in Utah and/or California
what’s so cool about a dam when you have a massive canyon?
What’s so cool about green when you have even more next door?
What’s so cool about beauty during a specific time of day when you have the Sonoran desert being the most widely considered as the most beautiful desert?
More economy, more growth more people (cuz it’s better) more tourism, more land, more camping, more things, more green, more size, more history, more recognition…
In 2023, Arizona received 45.7 million visitors, while Nevada (primarily referring to Las Vegas) saw 41 million visitors. This suggests that Arizona typically receives slightly more visitors annually than Nevada (Las Vegas).
All you have is Las Vegas.
That’s it.
Get over it.
no one cares about dams anyway ![]()
or josh trees

Dam.
2 Things: Home (to me at least), and you can’t just base everything off las vegas. Yes, it’s big, but it’s not the capital and has much to be desired. The capital is actually Carson city (Why does no one know seem to get that? Bigger does not mean capital), and most of the smaller towns/cities are better then Vegas in a sense, and that’s coming from a guy who lives there. Nevada has a lot when you look into it. Abandoned mines, beautiful mountains, and going back to vegas, the brightest spot light in the world. We have the Sierra Nevadas, lake taho, a B-29 lying in the bottom of lake mead, a 747 that you can walk through, and interesting plane wrecks in the mountains (and we have all the F-117s). Plus, no state income tax, so there’s a benefit, it’s cheaper to live here.
Now I get you think Arizona is better, you live there. Home bias, I have it too (hence why I spent 5-10 minutes writing this, then another 5 minutes editing this) But, did you know that a good chunck of yours and California’s prosperity comes from Nevada? Lake mead is shared by Nevada, California, Utah, and Arizona. We have a giant solar field just outside of Vegas that we can’t even use, because it all belongs to California. We go through a lot just so you guys have power. Once, we had to sustain power outages for weeks due to all of our power getting stolen from other states.
So there. Nevada doesn’t just have Vegas. There is so much behind the scenes that you don’t even realize. It’s home of defense (I see eurofighters every year because of this), entertainment, and desert. (Plus, have you ever been to Red Rock? Very pretty desert up there, would recommend)
Don’t just base things off Vegas or it’s statistics. There is so much more than meets the eye.
Now before you say anything, yes, I agree. Arizona is very pretty and lush, it has many benefits, but I still stand by my point. Nevada isn’t just Vegas. There’s Reno, Elko, Carson City, and so much more. Also, want to point one thing out. You said Arizona gets 45.7 million visitors in 2023, while Las Vegas got 41 mil. What you just said was one state got 45.7 mil, while one city got 41 mil, which is impressive (and annoying to those who live there and have to put up with the traffic, vegas get’s most of it’s money from tourism). That still leaves several more cities to go in Nevada. How can you say a state is better than another when you’re looking at one city in the other state? Have you even been to Nevada? (Vegas does not count at this point, nor does driving through it.)
To get to the point, I get your opinion and respect it. I really do, Arizona does have it’s benefits, but so does Nevada. But don’t just say one state is better without looking at what the other has to offer. People will get evidence against your claim, and provide a counterclaim. I personally like nevada because A, I’ve lived there my whole life, B, It has great outdoor spots and adventures, and C, it’s a good state. While I might talk crap about the education system and how the government is so bad in several states, I do have a good time here (and it’s not as hot as Phoenix).
Now, we cool? I’ve made my point, and you’ve made yours. End of story
Bro wrote an entire essay on this. Well done ![]()
Bows
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
no. Las Vegas was the primary contributor, Arizona still has more than Nevada.
you forgot the MLA formatting. ![]()
Well, it’s not like I was trying or anything. ![]()
I was just saying my point was Vegas almost got as much as Arizona, according to what you presented.
Also, now I have to find a new RC field. Time to hit the road I guess ![]()
