On the 30th of April 2025, Swissair Flight 335, an McDonnell Douglas MD-80 (?) collided on the runway with another plane, an Airbus A380. The crash ended up killing all 524 occupants on both planes. It is the second deadliest plane crash in history and the deadliest crash ever occurred in the airport. Investigators found that the crash was because of the poorly built airport and also, the airport didn’t have any ATC at the time. Because of this, the pilots on both planes had to use what they see on radar and the outside to fly instead of what they told because there was no ATC as mentioned. The crash resulted in a serious reconstruction of the airport, it took 2 years to built before it was finally open to the world again.
