Those who are good in making, crafting airplane models, assemble!
(Cause I’m a pro model maker myself duh! ).
I just wanted to ask whether you model makers use website to craft planes?
(For example: Little Model Airport, CityCraft, etc).
Plus, THOSE WHO HAVE THEIR OWN(imaginary)AIRLINES, PLEASE ASSEMBLE!!
And write your airline names below .
(sorry if I screamed to loud ).
Cause I have my own!
Its Called Dolmac Airlines.
You called me.Here I am.
what about plastic models
I can do both
I’m working on a plastic model, but I’m not good at it, it’s my first one
I’ve done like 6 (both tanks and airplanes)
I have 4 unfinished models sitting in my closet though.
If one wants to seriously get into it, the best of the best to learn from is Night Shift:
I do flyable paper models of various aircraft. I’m currently working on a Cold War-era jet with a long service life.
I also make flyable RC models.I‘m currently working on an F-15C
You make RC planes? Nice!
Me and a friend are looking into making a couple planes, one of which is a P. 108 that actually fires. Any tips?
You should make it as light as possible.Which materials do you use to make it?
We’re still in the planning phase, we need to know good, cheap, yet strong and forgiving materials. I know the foam that they use to to make foam models you can get from like, horizon hobby is good, yet I can’t find any.
We also need to know good electronics to use and good building techniques. My friend has an aviation class and he says that he can make wood wings with fabric stretched over it, like a WW1 plane. Is that a good tactic or should we go with a wood/foam, or all balsa construction?
But so far, our materials list looks like balsa, fabric, and foam, granted we find any.
Foam is a really good material to work with. But if it‘s too big, only foam won‘t be stable enough. If that‘s the case then I would recommend a construction made out of foam and wood to make the wings more stable.Because if you want your model to actually drop bombs then you need to make your model and especially the wings really stable. The wood/fabric tecnique sounds promising, but I never used it so I don‘t know
That’s the thing. The P. 108 variant we are looking at doesn’t drop bombs. It does something else that we can only do at certain fields.
The real P.108A Serie 2 is equipped with a 102 mm naval gun. We were hoping to build that, but on a much smaller scale, that (somewhat) works.
Although thanks for the tips! But would foam with a wood or carbon fiber spar help with the stability of the wings?
Oh you mean the boomstick version?Ok then you don’t need to make the wings super stable. But how big should it be?If it´s like 40cm then you won´t need extra wood to make it stable.one foam plate should be enough
Ok, thanks!
Am I the only one who makes paper model aircraft?
What about your own “imaginary” airlines?
