Ive noticed people mentioning that 2025 is a terrible year for aviation, but it really isn’t. In fact, the amount of plane crashes have been decreasing over time. It people like Aaron Rheins (no hate towards him:) and countless news sights covering EVERY single GA crash that put a false consensus that aviation is dangerous. This is not trying to say that these crashes and fatalities should be taken lightly but they need to stop being widespread news.
Edit: As of posting this, A Delta crj has crashed at Toronto Pearson airport. My condolences go out to the victims and their families. Fortunately, as of Feb 17th, no fatalities have been recorded.

I’ll agree with you on that. GA crashes happen every year and have since forever. It is simply because of all the December-February commercial incidents that people have gotten more into this, which is where the news stations come in. They are just money hungry, and a good way to make money is covering every little accident that happens.

Oh, so thats why a channel that i follow on Whatsapp keeps talking about news of GA crashes that have over 1 or 3 fatalities, because that channel is owned by a local news station called UOL News (UOL Notícias | Notícias do Dia no Brasil e no Mundo)

Yes and no. I agree that it should stop being widespread news, but at the same time, 2025 has been more eventful in terms of crashes/incidents, especially fatal ones.
Example: look at January of 2024 vs January of 2025.
2024:
2025:
Jan. 2024 fatalities: 15
Jan. 2025 fatalities: 101
