I have been back and forth for awhile on getting it. I am not a serious gamer or anything like that, and I also don’t want to spend a ton of money on planes. Does anyone have experience with MSFS and if so, is it worth it?
idk
Hello! I use both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. I really love it a lot, however both have underlying issues.
MSFS2020 requires a strong computer system. I use an i7 and RTX3060. I also recommend 200 gigabytes on your system for installation and addons. It runs fine with that, however there are some points where it’s really glitchy. I highly recommend this simulator for airliner flights. The sim includes the A320 , 747, and A310 for the default version, and the 787 as a paid expansion. VFR flying isn’t bad, however I would recommend FS24 if you fly more VFR.
MSFS2024 doesn’t require as strong as a computer system. However, it compensates for this by using your internet. Ideally, your PC needs a minimum of 100 mbps of internet constantly. If you don’t have that great of an internet connection, I would recommend sticking with FS20. Flying wise, FS24 includes several private and commercial aircraft. I would recommend this simulator if you’re mainly flying VFR or sightseeing. I’ve flown commercial aircraft in FS24 several times, and I prefer FS20 for this. FS24’s ground textures are amazing, and the sky/night lights are awesome. Career mode inside the simulator is great as well.
In short, it depends on the type of flying you’re looking to do. MSFS2020 for airliner flying, and MSFS2024 for VFR/sightseeing.
Both simulators have aircraft lists that can be found on Google. I’d recommend looking through that to see what planes you’d like to fly and make your decision that way. FS24 has several more planes than FS20 does.
One other thing I will point out is that MSFS’s key to success are addons. You can find a lot of free and amazing addons on https://flightsim.to (I highly recommend you scroll through that).
For me, I mainly fly the Fenix A319/20/21 package (around $65 as a paid addon), with the GSX Pro addon (around $30). Everything else I get from Flightsim.to.
Hope this helps with your decision!
Thank you for this. This is excellent. Plan to look through flightsim.io.
