Converting a He 162

If you don’t know what the Heinkel He 162 was, here you go.

Early jet fighter of 1944, part of the German Emergency Fighter Program.

When I was reading Warplanes of the Third Reich by William Green (Go check it out:The Warplanes of the Third Reich: Green, William: 9780385057820: Amazon.com: Books), I learned that there were proposed versions of it that had twin Argus engines, and forward swept and regular swept wings (162B, 162D, and 162C, respectively). I decided to convert my semi-completed Tamiya model of the He 162A-4 into the He 162D, which had forward swept wings and a V-tail. So, here’s it so far.

Not gonna lie, it kinda looks like a big Subsonex…

NOTE: Only blueprints were made of the C and D models. There were no actual prototypes produced. However, an E version that had convertible forward and rear swept wings was partially completed, along with a B-1 version with twin Argus turbojets, and a B-2 version with a single Argus.

UPDATE: I got one of the wings on. I just need to get the port wing on (It’s somewhere on my desk… I can’t find it… oh no…), and make some filler pieces to fill the gaps between the fuselage and the wings. I can then sand it, paint it, and then do final assembly.

U should paint the things that you can’t reach when it’s all assembled
