Today officially marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. It is an important day for all of us avgeeks who love aviation and the thing we love was used to take ~3000 innocent lives. Every year we remember. Every year we choose to have a moment of silence. Every year we choose to do something and to honor those who died that day. And that’s the most important part. We set apart our differences and for a single day in the year we are all just humans. Just like it was on September 12th, 2001. People in New York City were expected to move on with life normally tho that is far from what happened. People stood in line to donate blood, played music together on the street without asking for money, people drew on posters to show their support for those who chose to help in the clean up efforts of the towers. And all of that happened because we realized we were all just humans. Today, we honor those who were lost that day in the towers, on American Airlines flight 11, on United Airlines flight 175, on American Airlines flight 77, in the pentagon, on United Airlines flight 93 and the brave people who walked into the smoke of the crumbled towers and of the pentagon putting their lives on the line trying to rescue people. 9/11, never forget.
Yes. We must never forget the death and destruction that occured on that day.
