No one fears the Bf in War Thunder, they fear the YAK, because it can take out tanks at top tier.
The Yak-9K and Bf 109K are both excellent fighters, but they excel in different areas. The Yak-9K is more agile and maneuverable, particularly at lower altitudes, and with better armaments, while the Bf 109K has better climb rates, maximum dive speeds, and energy management at higher altitudes.
If I was assigned to a strike aircraft or a dogfighter, I would choose the YAK.
If I was assigned to a long range high altitude bomber escort, I would choose the BF

the BF-109 was (i beleive) more designed for attack-focused bomber escorts. The YAK is more defensively based, so it is a little more tight in the segment of shooting down planes one by one (we could consider it a hunter-killer), so it is better in manueverability and other dogfight-related aspects. The BF-109, on the flip side, is more tight in the Nazi strategy of ‘Blitzkreig’ (Lightning War) and therefore is great at deterring the enemy for periods of time while their bombers… destroy their targets. Therefore, it is slightly less agile, but has more ability in climb rate and such so that it can outrun and tire the opponent, then destroy it(the opponent’s plane)
BTW in your opinion is War Thunder a good source for visualizing or for understanding fighter plane power?
